December 4, 2025 | Ramloti
Dear Friends,
It has been an unusual month in many ways. The weather has been very warm, which continues to open the door to record-breaking amounts of visitors, nearly 200 for the Thanksgiving weekend alone! However, what we opened our eyes to last Monday morning was even more unique in my 40 years of being here. We received over a foot of snow, which is not so uncommon to receive a few times a winter, but it was extremely wet and heavy. The huge tree outside the greenhouse was totally uprooted and knocked over.
And many other trees on the grounds lost several branches.
To our dismay, the people that used to plow our driveway, parking lot, and other areas when we received this much snow were no longer doing snow plowing. The referrals we received were already busy plowing and we needed our long driveway cleared for the day’s visitors. Once again, by Baba’s grace, several volunteers came up to clear snow for several hours, making the driveway passable and the parking lot accessible.
Even a group of new visitors who had come from Denver for darshan, were willing to pick up snow shovels and help with more of the clearing, there was a lot of snow!
So, as I expressed last month, Shri Babaji and the Divine Mother continue to take excellent care of their home. The families coming on the weekends to cook and serve have been extremely generous, hardworking, joyful and producing a huge variety of delicious food. Yum! Gratitude is a small word compared with what we have been receiving. We are already booked for volunteers for December, and people are busy organizing their karma yoga visits for 2026.
Yesterday, just as we finished our daily fire ceremony, a group of people arrived from our neighboring spiritual center, Vajra Vidya. I had not seen Kenpo, who is the head teacher from Bhutan in residence there, for several years.
We both acknowledged how busy our centers are, giving us little time to visit one another. He is always a joyful person to be with but what I noticed about him this time was his constant chanting of the mantra. It helped me remember how important that repetition and focus is, particularly during uncertain times. I wanted to give an excerpt from “I am Harmony” by Radhe Shyam about Shri Babaji’s teachings on the mantra that may be of help to others.
“In order to focus people's minds on God, Babaji taught people to repeat the ancient mantra OM NAMAHA SHIVAYA. It is a Sanskrit phrase, which means something like 'I surrender to bow to/take refuge in God'. Repetition of Om Namaha Shivaya is a pathway to unity with the Supreme God. (The name of God used in this mantra is Lord Shiva Who is a Hindu conception of the one Supreme God. This mantra has been used for millennia and taught by saints and gurus in India and the West.) Constant repetition of a mantra (the repetition is called japa) focuses the mind on God, opens one's heart and mind to God, and stops or reduces the inherent tendency of one's mind to constantly plan, worry, daydream or otherwise prattle away in really useless activity.”
“The main purpose of Sri Babaji's coming in a human manifestation at this time was to reform the hearts and minds of men. He came to remove confusion and evil from mankind. Babaji once said: "The mind can be purified only by japa. This is the only medicine for the disease of the mind. While your mind and heart are impure, how can God live in your heart? The water-to clean your heart is the Name of God. So, teach everyone to repeat the name of God everywhere."
“The mind that is generally focused on God's Name responds, when the need arises, spontaneously to perform its required functions quickly, easily and well. Babaji emphasized Om Namaha Shivaya but also gave other mantras on occasion: the essence of his instruction is 'Repeat God's name'. Shri Babaji said that when the great destruction comes to the world, those who believe in and worship God sincerely and especially those who repeat His Name(s), would be saved by the power of the mantra. "God's Names are more powerful than a thousand atomic and hydrogen bombs".
May the rest of our year and the holy season ahead find us focusing on the name and presence of the Divine in all we do and everyone we meet. Om Namah Shivaya!
In truth and love,
Ramloti for the Ashram

Visitors to the Ashram
With the continued warm weather, we have had many, many visitors. It is always wonderful to meet new folks and greet the friends that have been coming for a long time. It was definitely the largest Thanksgiving weekend we have ever had, nearly 200 visitors. Shri Babaji and the Divine Mother keep calling more and more people to them. Below are some of the photos. Bhole Baba Ki Jai!
Karma Yoga
The love and service that went on this last month was immense and filled with so much joy. Thank you to all who helped out so graciously.
Despite the snow and the turning weather, the karma yoga never slowed down. In fact, the warmth of your service kept the Ashram glowing. Repairs, winterizing the garden and greenhouse, cooking, cleaning, serving, unpacking Shop orders, setting up the auction, updating our offerings on eBay, and preparing for ceremonies keep us busy.
We are grateful to all who help us navigate the changing seasons. You are a very important part of this Ashram. Thank you!
